Toto Wolff may see Ferrari and Red Bull as Mercede’s main rivals, but fears two other teams mmay join the fight for wins.
The Brackley based squad, has enjoyed a four year dominating F1 with four drivers and constructors championships. This year, Ferrari stepped up their game and along with Sebastian Vettel fought hard for the world title. Eventually it was Lewis Hamilton who ended up as champion with Mercedes clinching the constructors title with four races to go.
Now Wolff believes that 2018 may see not two or three, but five teams fighting for wins, as the silver arrows prepare for another challenging year.
We mustn’t discount anybody. Today, as it stands, it looks like Ferrari and Red Bull. I am curious to see where McLaren and Renault come out. I wouldn’t write anybody off. The rules will stay the same so it could be a very competitive season. I guess we will see a fight between Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull Racing – and maybe McLaren-Renault will join us in the title fight. That is an exciting outlook for the fans.
